The list goes on and on but will this change work?

This season alone, there have been numerous coaching changes. I had written back on Saturday December 17th, 2011 when Jacques Martin the former coach of the Montreal Canadiens was sacked and they had hoped that Randy Cunneyworth was going to help change their fortunes around. It obviously did not happen as they are currently in last place in the Eastern Conference. Well three months later, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going through a similar slump and fans in Leafs Nation were calling for head coach Ron Wilson to be fired. They got their wish as he was relieved of his duties and replacing him is Randy Carlyle. This firing comes only after he had signed a one year extension during Christmas time. His time in Toronto was not the most successful in his coaching career. The reason behind it is because the Leafs simply could not qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Carlyle brings experience to a young Leafs squad. Before being fired by the Anaheim Ducks this season, he had coached them to two western conference championships and winning the cup in 2007. Also in his tenure, his teams made the playoffs every season except for one which was in the 2009-2010 season. He obviously has what it takes as a coach, but is he going to change the fortunes of the Leafs around this late in this season? Well only he knows the answer to that question come spring time.
